VSTU Swimmers Win Medals at the Volgograd Championship

On April 21 and 22, the next round of the city's sports event, the "Volgograd Swimming Championship among Students of Higher Education Institutions in Volgograd," was held at the Volgograd State Medical University (VSMU) swimming pool.
Representatives from Volgograd State Technical University (VSTU), Volgograd State Academy of Physical Education (VSPEA), Volgograd State Socio-Pedagogical University (VSSPU), Volgograd State University (VolSU), VSMU, and RANEPA competed on the blue lanes.
Participants competed in freestyle, individual medley, breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly, as well as in the 4x50m freestyle and medley relays.
In a fierce battle, fighting for every second, our team took second place, losing only to the team from VSPEA.
In the individual standings, Alena Kizimenko (FEWT) won silver in the 50m breaststroke and the 100m individual medley. Gold went to Egor Kirsanov (FEWT) in the 50m backstroke.
A serious battle for victory unfolded among athletes in the relay events. Ultimately, the girls' team (Alena Kizimenko, Elizaveta Shashmakova, Anastasia Kushnir, Maria Titueva) won silver in the 4x50m medley relay. The boys' team won bronze in the 4x50m freestyle relay (Vladislav Gorobchenko, Dmitry Pshenichny, Egor Kirsanov, Ivan Gorbunov) and in the 4x50m medley relay (Vladislav Gorobchenko, Georgy Dikarev, Egor Kirsanov, Ivan Gorbunov).
