Department of Russian language

History

Foreign students studying is existing in our university for more then 60 years. The very first group of international students consisted of 12 students from Iraq, Nepal, Nigeria and Cambodia, that arrived to the VSTU in 1962.

In the year of 1972 was created department of Russian language (with Malov Vasily Vasilyevich as its head) and in the 1973 was created Faculty for Foreign Training as independent structure. This faculty works together with the department of Russian language. Since 1998/1999 in VSTU exists the general department of Russian language with preparatory and main sections for foreign students. For the 37 years Filimonova Natalia Yuryevna was the head of the department and at the present time it is Harlamova Natalia Vladimirovna, docent, candidate for philological sciences.

At the present time the members of the department are Harlamova Natalia Vladimirovna, head of the department of Russian language, docent, candidate of philological sciences; L. F. Belyakova, head of the sections of the main faculties, candidate of philological sciences; E. S. Ionkina, head of the section of general educational disciplines, deputy dean for science, docent, candidate of pedagogical sciences; E. V. Tumentzeva, deputy dean for academical work, docent, candidate of philological sciences; G. V. Vorobyova, deputy head of the department of Russian language, docent, candidate of philological sciences; and others.
