VSTU team will take part in the final of ICPC Student World Team Programming Championship for the second time!

24.08.2021

From the 1st of October to the 6th, 2021, Moscow will host the 44th final of ICPC World Championship among student teams in sports programming, which is hosted by Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.

This is the final of the 2019-2020 seasons, which was supposed to take place in 2020, but due to the Coronavirus pandemic, it was postponed to the summer of 2021, and then to October.

The final of the world championship is a large-scale and important event, and the championship itself is the most massive and popular student programming competition. So, in the 2019 - 2020 seasons, taking into account all regional stages, almost 59 thousand students from 3406 universities representing 104 countries from 6 continents took part!

Our first team consists of Artem Nosov, Dmitry Bulankin and Mikhail Kovalev under the guidance of coaches Vladimir Chalyshev and Vladislav Agafonov, finalists of ICPC 2012, in December 2019, took 38th place in the semifinals of ICPC World Cup out of 310 teams and was awarded a diploma of the 2nd degree.

At that time, 16 teams from the Northern Eurasia region (no more than one from a university) qualified for the final of the 2019-2020 seasons, taking places from 1 to 27, including 10 teams from Russia.

This summer, the organizers of ICPC decided to expand a number of participants in the final due to the difficulties with the full-time participation of all teams in the current conditions. 23 teams were selected from the Northern Eurasia region, including the team of VSTU!

We wish our team good luck and a successful performance in the final!
