Based on an agreement between Yuri Gagarin VKUiNT, Stereotek LLC, and VSTU, and in accordance with the decision of the university's academic council dated December 24, 2025, the core department "Additive Multi-Axis Technologies" (AMT) has been established at the Faculty of Automated Systems, Transport, and Armaments (FASTiV) of the technical university. The head of the department is the Deputy General Director for Science at Stereotek LLC, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor A.V. Drobotov, a graduate of the polytechnic institute.
It is worth noting that practical work at the "Automation of Production Processes" department of FASTiV, involving specialists from Stereotek LLC, has been ongoing for several years. This important aspect of the educational process has now received official documentation.
The creation of the core department "Additive Multi-Axis Technologies" allows the university to train personnel in one of the most in-demand and rapidly developing industries. Cooperation with the company "Stereotek" provides technical support for the department directly from the equipment manufacturer. Students of the department have the opportunity to undergo internships at the specialized enterprise and acquire the most relevant knowledge and practical skills. This represents the practice-oriented focus of the entire educational process of the graduating department "Automation of Production Processes" at VSTU.
As we have previously reported, the company "Stereotek," founded by employees and graduates of the aforementioned VSTU department, is a leading developer and manufacturer of multi-axis FDM printers and has many years of expertise in the development, integration into production cycles, and practical application of additive technologies.
It should be added that VSTU currently has more than a dozen core departments, established with the support of the region's largest industrial enterprises, such as JSC FNPC Titan-Barrikady, JSC Corporation Krasny Oktyabr, Volzhsky Pipe Plant, and others.
