Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko noted that supporting young researchers is one of the main areas of the Government's work.

"For this purpose, a set of measures under the national project 'Youth and Children' and the Decade of Science and Technology is being implemented. The selection of postgraduate students and adjuncts for scholarships established by the decree of President Vladimir Putin will take place for the third time. Every year we see great interest in this support measure, with applications coming from all regions of the country. Starting this year, the number of recipients will increase: up to 800 people will be able to become winners of the scholarship competition," stated Dmitry Chernyshenko.

He added that there is also a noticeable overall increase in young people's interest in science. Over the past five years, the number of participants in the Congress of Young Scientists has tripled. Last year, the congress brought together over 8,000 participants from 89 regions of Russia and 100 foreign countries, demonstrating record international engagement.

Head of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov noted that candidates for the Presidential Scholarship for postgraduate students and adjuncts are nominated by their research supervisors.

"It is precisely the ideas, energy, and determination of young scientists that form the foundation for achieving technological victories. Support measures such as the Russian Presidential Scholarship for postgraduate students and adjuncts allow talented young people to focus on research and scientific inquiry," said the minister.

The scholarship amount is 75,000 rubles per month for a period of 1 to 4 years. Up to 800 people will become winners of the competition.

The research of scholarship applicants must align with the priorities defined in the Strategy for the Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation.
