22.06.2022The 22nd of June is Memorial Day in Russia. On this day 81 years ago, the lives of almost 200 million people were divided into "before and after" – an alarming message about the attack of enemy troops on the Soviet Union spread through all cities. The Great Patriotic War began – 1418 days full of heroism and courage. During the fighting of 1941-1945, about 27 million people were killed. As long as we remember them, their exploits are alive. On the 22nd of June, candles are lit all over the world in the silence in honour of all those who gave their lives in the name of the Great Victory. In Volgograd, the event took place on the Alley of Heroes, which was attended by students of our university.
