117 teams from 42 countries of the world took part in the final of ICPC World Sports Programming Championship, VSTU team took 68th place

The final of the World Programming Championship among university teams (International Collegiate Programming Contest) took place yesterday in Moscow – the absolute championship was won for the first time by a team of Nizhny Novgorod State University named after N.I. Lobachevsky. Seoul State University took the second place, ITMO University took the third and MIPT – the fourth place.

These are gold medalists – according to ICPС rules, there are 12 prize-winning places in the final. The winners are awarded four sets of gold, silver and bronze medals.

The team of VSTU - took 68th place.

It is worth noting that out of 15 Russian teams, polytechnics took the 13th place, ahead of MAI University team!

Recall that our team consisted of:

- Artem Nosov is a graduate of VSTU of the Faculty of Electronics and Computer Engineering, an engineer of Yandex;

- Dmitry Bulankin – a Master's student of VSTU, an engineer of Yandex;

- Mikhail Kovalev is a graduate of VSTU, an engineer of Yandex.

Team Coaches:

- Vladislav Agafonov, graduate of VSTU, Huawei engineer, finalist of ICPC 2012 World Championship;

- Vladimir Chalyshev, graduate of VSTU, Facebook engineer, finalist of ICPC 2012 World Championship.

The team leader is Andrey Andreev, Head of the Department of Computer Science at VSTU.
