The flagship university opened its doors for applicants

On June 20 all universities of the country started to accept documents from the applicants. Traditionally at Volgograd flagship technical university people who first submitted documents got acquainted with the representatives of university administration.

After having checked how agencies and faculties are ready for a really difficult period, designate rector, professor - Alexander Valentinovich Navrotskiy, president of the university, RAS academician - Ivan Alexandrovich Novakov, vice-rector for academic affairs - Igor Leonidovich Gonik and executive secretary of the admission office - Dmitry Nikolaevich Gurulev talked to the applicants and made them small presents.

Vu Man Hung and Le Van Hoang became not only one of the first applicants but also first foreign applicants. They came from Vietnam and applied to the faculty of foreign specialists’ training. In their native country they have already defined their professional interests – chemistry and engineering and in Russia they plan to continue their education at master’s degree.

Viktor Shaitanov, Olga Mozgunova (material engineering and materials technology) and Nikita Matunin (mechanic engineering, abridged form) have chosen faculty of construction materials technology. A.V. Navrotskiy and I.A. Novakov asked applicants what schools they graduated from, what score they got for the Uniformed State exam in physics and mathematics, then wished them good luck and warned that it would not be easy to study at the flagship university.

Valeria Ivanova graduated from Volgograd gymnasium № 11 and applied to the faculty of electronics and computer engineering in the major of “Software engineering”. Having a really decent total score for the Unified State Exam the girl consider the flagship university to be the most probable place of her further education.

Defense specialties which can be mastered at the faculty of automated systems, transport and armament traditionally attract guys. And this day has only proved it. Konstantin Kukhar, Valeriy Zykin and Dmitriy Birukov are sure that they will study at VSTU and they have even managed to get acquainted with the faculty dean-Oleg Dmitrievich Kosov. Alexander Valentinovich assured the applicants that if they decided on the flagship university, they would not regret. Anna Surmina having graduated from Volgograd lyceum number 5 got a total score of 233 points in the Unified State Exam. With these scores she applied to the faculty of automobile transport, major “Technology of transport processes”.

And of course some applicants submitted their documents to the part-time and extramural attendance forms.
