VSTU students will receive internships at TMK enterprises

The Research Center of the Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK Research Center) and Volgograd State Technical University have become partners for the next ten years. Together, they plan to develop the scientific and educational infrastructure of the region.

The agreement was signed during the "Education-2026" forum in Volgograd. The ceremony was attended by Igor Pyshmintsev, Director of the TMK Research Center; Sergey Chetverikov, Vice President of TMK; and Alexander Navrotskiy, Acting Rector of VSTU.

The company and the university will conduct joint research and implement digital technologies at manufacturing plants. Students will be able to undertake internships at the enterprises. The first projects are aimed at improving work with stainless steel and creating pipes from this material.

"Cooperation with specialized higher education institutions is one of the key areas of work for TMK's scientific division. The signing of the agreement reflects our commitment to systematic interaction between university and industry science. Joint projects in the fields of new materials and digital solutions will not only make it possible to solve current technological challenges but also to train specialists who possess the most in-demand competencies," emphasized Igor Pyshmintsev.

The new agreement continues the collaboration between the university and the company. Previously, with the support of the Volzhsky Pipe Plant (a TMK branch), the university established a basic department "Environmental Protection and Resource Conservation," a laboratory for metal forming, and a TMK corporate classroom.

"Combining the potential of the university and an industrial partner will accelerate the introduction of innovations, strengthen the research base, and create conditions for the emergence of new technological solutions in metallurgy. This is a contribution to the sustainable development of both the Volgograd region and the industry as a whole," noted Alexander Navrotskiy.
