VGTRK "Volgograd-TRV": prospects for the development of innovative agrarian-food technologies discussed in Volgograd

An International Scientific and Practical Conference was held in Volgograd at the Technical University. Participants discussed the prospects for the development of innovative agrarian-food technologies.
Scientists from leading universities across the country, representatives of industry research institutes, managers and specialists from enterprises in various sectors of the food industry came to Volgograd. The International Scientific and Practical Conference took place in the hero city.
Canned stew, sausages, cheeses, bakery products — educational institutions from Volgograd, Astrakhan, Saratov, Maykop, Rostov-on-Don, Bashkortostan, and Kalmykia presented their developments at the product exhibition.
Today, special attention is paid to food security issues. According to forum participants, the development of the agro-industrial complex is the main factor in the well-being of the population.
"We produce milk, meat, grain, vegetables, fruits. And then, during deep processing, our task is to combine all this into a single complex. Simply producing is one thing, but deep processing is very important. Today we have about 30 enterprises present, plus Iran, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and China are participating. By the way, the country's president recently visited China and Kazakhstan as well, because trade turnover has increased," said Ivan Gorlov, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Head of the Department of Food Production and Processing Technologies, Chief Researcher at the State Scientific Institution Research Institute of Meat and Dairy Livestock Breeding.
At the plenary session, participants presented over 60 reports on a wide range of issues. The Volgograd region is home to numerous agricultural processing enterprises. According to experts, the priority lies precisely with regional raw material resources, as this not only supports the local economy but also guarantees high product quality. As part of the conference, an All-Russian competition-review of the best innovative developments was held.
