The final of the CASE-IN Championship for young engineers from Russia and foreign countries kicks off in Moscow

From May 20 to 22, the final of the 14th season of the International Engineering Championship CASE-IN will be held in Moscow with the support of the Presidential Platform "Russia – a Land of Opportunities." 760 future and current specialists from leading industries in Russia and 14 foreign countries will present breakthrough solutions using future technologies to experts, exchange best practices with colleagues, and gain an impetus for career development. The championship is being implemented within the framework of the "Science to Win" initiative and the plan for the Decade of Science and Technology in Russia.

Over 14 years, CASE-IN has evolved from a local university competition into the largest international contest for solving engineering cases, noted Andrey Betin, General Director of the Presidential Platform "Russia – a Land of Opportunities" and Rector of the Senegzh Management Workshop: "CASE-IN solves real production challenges of leading companies and unites a large community of young professionals. In 2026, more than 6,000 people from Russia, as well as young people from 13 CIS and BRICS countries, took part in the championship. The participants gained professional competencies, practical experience, analytical thinking skills, and cross-functional interaction abilities. I am confident that we will soon see them as leaders in key sectors, ready to tackle strategically important tasks for the benefit of Russia."

At the MISIS University of Science and Technology, 208 teams will present breakthrough solutions on the main theme of the season – "Technologies of the Future," said Artem Korolev, founder and co-chairman of CASE-IN: "The core of the championship is the Student League: in-person qualifying rounds were held at 56 partner universities, and we also conducted 11 open rounds in which students from all universities could participate without restrictions. As a result, students from 70 universities representing Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, and Belarus will come to the final in Moscow. These are 162 teams that will compete for the championship awards in 13 areas corresponding to the leading sectors of the Russian economy."

In the final of the Russian Young Professionals League, 14 teams will present ideas for improving the production efficiency of their companies. In 2026, the competition will be held in three areas: "Operational Efficiency and Strategic Resources," "Sustainable Development and ESG, Technological Independence and Risk Management," as well as "Digital Solutions and Implementation of New Technologies."

Champions will also be determined in the CIS and BRICS Young Professionals Leagues. In the international categories of CASE-IN, 23 teams from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Ethiopia, and South Africa will compete.

A highlight of the final will be the T Plus Special League. Energy workers from 14 branches of the company competed for a spot in the decisive stage, and the four strongest teams will come to Moscow.

In the final of the "Energy" Special League, six teams representing TGC-1, Siberian Generating Company, OGK-2, Baikal Energy Company, Mosenergo, and MOEK will compete. The competition is traditionally organized by the All-Russian Industry Association of Energy Suppliers Employers – the RaPE Union.

Winners and prize-winners of the student categories will receive preferential admission terms for master's and postgraduate programs at 36 partner universities, as well as the opportunity to undergo paid internships at specialized companies with the prospect of further employment. The best young specialists can count on career development and the implementation of their own projects in production.

In addition, the champions of the championship will take part in industry-specific youth educational forums.

The final of the CASE-IN Championship will last three days.

On May 20, the Student League competitions will be held in the areas of "Architecture, Design, Construction and Housing and Utilities," "Petrochemistry," "Biotechnology," "Thermal Power Engineering," and "Project Engineering." Young specialists will also compete on the same day.

On May 21, the Student League competitions will be held in the areas of "Electric Power Industry," "Mining," and "Geological Exploration," as well as the finals of the CIS Young Professionals League and the BRICS Young Professionals League.

On May 22, Student League participants will present solutions in the areas of "Metallurgy," "Digital Automation," "Oil and Gas Business," and "Mining Machinery and Equipment." On the same day, the finals of the T Plus and "Energy" special leagues will take place. Volgograd State Technical University in the "Metallurgy" direction will be represented by the team "Alpha-Titan" (Artyom Kirichenko, Egor Vakulin, Yulia Biryukova, Alexey Biryukov, team supervisor – Associate Professor Galina Zakozhurnikova).

The organizers of the CASE-IN Championship are the "Reliable Shift" Foundation, the Presidential Platform "Russia – a Land of Opportunities," the Non-Profit Partnership "Youth Forum of Mining Leaders," and AstraLogika LLC.

The organizers of the CIS and BRICS Young Professionals Leagues are the "Reliable Shift" Foundation and the International Union of Instrument Makers and Information and Telecommunication Technologies Specialists. The competitions are held with the support of Rossotrudnichestvo and the Russian Energy Agency of the Ministry of Energy of Russia. The CIS Young Professionals League is also implemented with the support of the Executive Committee of the CIS Electric Power Council.
