The team of VSTU returned from the final of the competitions of North Eurasia Region on students' team programming ACM ICPC – 2018 with the III degree diploma

The XXIII semifinal competitions of the students' team world championship on programming ACM ICPC took place from the 1st to the 2nd of December at ITMO University (St. Petersburg). This is the final of ACM ICPC of North Eurasia Region uniting the Universities of many states of the post-soviet space: Russia, Belorussia, Lithuania, Latvia, Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kirghizia, Uzbekistan, Tadzhikistan and Turkmenia.

299 teams took part in the contest. Trained by the graduate of the Electronics and Computer Science Faculty of VSTU and finalist of ICPC 2011-2012, engineer of Facebook Vladimir Chalyshev, the team of VSTU (Nikita Penskiy, Artem Nosov, Dmitry Bulankin) competed with the best teams of Russia and CIS, including the world champions from MSU. The participants had to solve 13 tasks during 5 hours.

After solving 6 tasks, our team got the 34th place and got the III degree diploma. This is the second result of the team of VSTU over the history of our participation in ICPC after the final competitions in 2011 and the best result for 7 years.

The competition becomes stronger every year, more than 15 000 teams participated in the selective stage this year. The team of MSU won in the final contest of North Eurasia: the participants had solves 11 tasks from 13.
