The international students’ delegation of the Forum “Russia is the Country of Possibilities” visited VSTU

The guests from Ghana, Estonia, Mexico, Montenegro, Slovenia, Malaysia, Morocco and Palestine visited VSTU. The international students from our University were glad to meet them today. First of all, they communicated with the interpreter’s help. The Vice-Rector of the Flagship University Sergey Kalashnikov promised a very warm welcome to the young people in spite of snow and cold from outside.
Sergey Kalashnikov remarked that 23 000 students, including more than thousand international students from different countries, studied at VSTU; 20 Faculties worked here and there were almost 70 training educational areas. Being a Flagship University, VSTU practically solved all the tasks concerning the engineering profiles. It trains the engineers of Metallurgy Area, high-skilled specialists of Armament profile, decorators and sculptors of monuments etc. “The Flagship University is a new directing mark in the regional development and the expansion of international relations and the students’ exchange in different educational programs, communication with the young people from different countries on various platforms are very important for VSTU!” - the Vice-Rector said.
Karmona Garassia Huan Antonio, student from Mexico, suggested to join the collective efforts in the expansion of the relations between two countries. The guests introduced themselves and started the conversation with the Head of the International Relations Department Grigory Boyko’s help. They visited the History and Science Museum where the Head of the Museum Svetlana Mishta and the Head of the department of Research and Innovations Nikolay Kidalov told them about the glorious past of VSTU, the polytechnic workers’ hard war period, the traditions of VSTU, the 88th anniversary of the University that would take place in May and the present victories of VSTU. Our University is the only higher educational establishment to be in "Times Higher Education”, rating of the best Universities of the world 2017-2018. The young people were very interested. Now they communicated with the workers of VSTU almost without the interpreter’s help.
