The foresight session at VSTU

VSTU is the oldest higher education institution of the city ad the Flagship University of the District. The representatives of the Government of Volgograd District and business and research community are participating in three-day foresight session, working out a strategy of the most promising areas of the development of VSTU and discussing the participation of the University in the global projects of the district.

Anton Tukov, co-organizer of the foresight session:

- At present we are forming the image of the desired future of our district and the University within

Vladimir Lysak, Rector of VSTU and Academician of RAS:

- 250 patents for inventions will be received at VSTU this year - over half of all inventions created in Volgograd District. This is our researchers’ contribution to the development of the national research and technical potential.

The attempt to unify the fundamental education, business and demands of the district is a very good idea. It seems to me that nowadays these are three different worlds.

Alexander Sivakov, Vice-Governor of Volgograd District and Head of the Economic Policy and Volgograd District Development Committee:

The financing of the research work in Volgograd District has increased to more than triple (143 million rubles) since 2013. The establishment of 2 Youth Innovative Creativity Centers within the framework of the program of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade in Volgograd is coming to a close.

Alexander Andreev, representative of the Agency of Strategic Initiatives of Volgograd District:

This event is necessary for the district and our country. If we organize these events in all the districts we will get the digital and innovative economy that we are talking about.

The projects organized within the framework of the foresight sessions will be presented to the experts of the Investment Council of Volgograd District on the 6^th of December.
