The 75th anniversary of Stalingrad Battle

Volzhsky Polytechnical Institute (Affiliate) of VSTU started the realization of the events dedicated to the 75^th anniversary of Stalingrad Battle on the 31^st of January.

The students, representatives of the Administration of the Institute and members of the organization “Children of military Stalingrad” gathered in the conference-hall of VPI. The meeting was organized by the members of the students’ trade-union bureau and extra-curricular department of the University. The project “Children of military Stalingrad” is aimed at keeping of the historical memory about Stalingrad Battle in the video movie translating the witnesses and participants’ memories. The veterans approved this idea. The students’ television group of VPI made the first interview within the framework of the event.

The Director of Volzhsky Polytechnical Institute Alexander Fetisov suggested the creation of the first videos till May 2018 and their presentation during the celebration of the Victory Day. The Director of VPI and the representatives of municipal organization promised the help and cooperation in the realization of this project.

The Associate professor of the Chair “Social and Humanitarian Disciplines” Maxim Opalev accompanied his practical lessons in Mosin–Nagant assembly and disassembly with the interesting facts about this weapon.

The events dedicated to the 75^th anniversary of Stalingrad Battle will last till the end of the week. The polytechnic students will participate in the All-Russian project “Home with a star”, moment of silence and floral tribute to the monument to the soldiers of the civil war and the Great Patriotic War, join the concert in the Center of Culture and Arts “October” on the 2^nd of February.
